Payroll Implementation Specialist – No Longer Open

This position successfully enrolls all new clients to SERPEO’s practices; develops a trusting/working co-employer relationship, and delivers perfect payrolls.  This position requires follow up, attention to detail and auditing of your own work. SERPEO’s Missions and Values are to be incorporated when processing internal and external customer service.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Liaison between sales force and operations
  • Identify and execute additional value added services for all new clients
  • Identify how to make the payroll flow with ease, promote our products
  • Manage and coordinate transition timelines for all new clients
  • Track the progress of new hire packets, benefit enrollment forms, garnishments, 401k, accrual entries, etc. to ensure the client’s payrolls are produced as promised and timely manner
  • Train the client on their chosen payroll processing method (web, excel import, time clock interface, or timesheets via fax)
  • Provide superior customer service
  • Process  weekly, bi-weekly and monthly payrolls (HRP Software) as needed
  • Administer payroll system settings for client administration and general ledger accounting
  • Create client profiles (including job codes, pay codes, deduction codes, bank accounts, etc.)
  • Enter changes, new hires and terminations as needed
  • Report new hires and verify social security numbers as needed
  • Process all garnishments, friend of the court payments, loans, tax changes, benefit deductions or any other personal or job specific changes into payroll as needed
  • Create benefit eligibility reports
  • Process all benefit enrollments, changes and terminations in multiple systems
  • COBRA processing
  • Create and maintain employee files
  • Address payroll issues in a timely, appropriate manner
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Experience working with HR Pyramid software is a must
  • Associates degree with 3-5 years’ experience in payroll processing or client set-up and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of garnishment rules and withholding requirements
  • Knowledge of US federal, state and local tax withholding
  • Understanding of employee benefits including eligibility calculations
  • Understanding of FMLA laws and regulations
  • Must be able to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
  • Experience working in a PEO or payroll processor a plus
  • Experience working with HR Pyramid software strongly preferred
  • CPP designation preferred
